Let’s be honest I have a lot of dreams, goals, and plans but whenever you have one plan I am almost certain God has a totally different one. Like many people my age I have this picture of where I want to be tomorrow, in a month and even 5 years from now. While daydreaming about all of this in anatomy I decided to take the less traditional route and write a letter to my future self.
****DISCLAIMER!!!! what is below is NOT my title/ credentials just where I hope to be in a few (meaning 5) years. We can all dream, right? Motivational purposes only 😊
Dear Alexis Sparkman-Williams BSN, RN,
Right now, you are literally sitting in your anatomy 208 class freshmen year writing this when you should be listening to Dr. Wright. It’s crazy because I think you have always spent most of your life in your head. Have you gotten out of it yet? There is a whole world out there but I hope by now you also know that. You just turned 18 and you have already accomplished soo much. I am beyond proud of you but you have so much more to do. Starting with learning how to study and how to prioritize. Because you and I both know that nap you took during lab could have waited an hour. Currently your favorite things are horror movies, Chinese food, yum yum sauce, Raymito, sleep, and waiting till the last minute to do everything. I wonder if you decided to get the little rose behind your ear removed and join the military, if you married Ray (or anyone for that matter. WE HATE CATS!), have baby fever still or if you even still love the idea of being a nurse? It’s strange to read your name like that but I am really glad you did it. How did you power though chem with Bowers? Girl that class is tough! Did you leave Carson-Newman? Because right now that is the hot topic among your thoughts. You’re currently head over heels with Ray and he seems like your whole life but I want you to know that even though he is the most amazing person you can imagine right now. You got to go where life takes you and trust the process. So, while I hope y’all made it, I hope more that if y’all didn’t you didn’t let it break you! Did you learn to like other girls? Because that’s kind of important that you learned that skill by now. Everyone is not out to get you. I hope you mended the relationships with your family and most importantly yourself. I hope you have continued to try and include God in your life. I REALLY hope you learned to save money…. YOU HAVE EXPENSIVE TASTE. So, saving is key for that dream house you and Ray conjured up. I pray you are healthy, happy, smiling, and still writing.
