I feel like every time I express an issue or a want the response is always “Pray” “Ask God”. While this is always a very good place to start we cannot realistically expect to get what we want just by asking. I personally do not believe that God is just a vending machine where we can hit ‘B12’ and get what we asked for on demand. So, in my opinion the prayer should be more along the lines of “Lord please give me the tools”.
“Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works is dead” James 2:17
This verse to me is saying that we have to be willing to accept the tools from God to reach the finished products that we desire. It is not enough to only have faith and pray we have to accept whatever he is willing to give us. Even if it is just all the ingredients instead of the finished cake. If we are not putting works behind our prayer what we are praying for is already dead.
“You gotta put some grind behind all that prayer”
I have been seeing this on so many post on my social media and it is soo True! If you are putting God first or at least making a conscious effort to, he will see your work and reward you! That little small thing you do for him he will give back abundantly to you. Your grind has to be just as aggressive as your goals and your prayer. You have to work just as hard as you pray to meet your goals it really is a balance. The two go hand in hand in my eyes, they are both components I need to cross that finish line.
